A Danish cluster organisation focused on the bioeconomy, food systems, biotechnology and innovation is preparing a proposal for Horizon Europe call HORIZON-BRIDGING-2027-02-05. The consortium seeks technology owners, patent holders and organisations with exploitable results from completed Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe Cluster 6 projects. Partners should contribute mature technologies, IP and business cases ready for scale-up, market uptake and commercialisation.
A Danish innovation cluster active in the fields of food, bioeconomy, biotechnology, circular economy and sustainable industrial innovation is building a consortium for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-BRIDGING-2027-02-05: Advancing promising results from Pillar II collaborative research through the innovation journey.
The initiative addresses a recurring challenge in European research and innovation: many promising results generated through Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe collaborative research projects fail to achieve market uptake despite demonstrating significant technical potential. Technologies often reach advanced development stages but require additional validation, scale-up activities, customer engagement, business development, regulatory preparation, intellectual property exploitation and investment readiness support before commercialisation.
The proposed project will establish a structured pathway to accelerate the transition of promising research outcomes from completed Pillar II projects into commercial products, services and industrial applications. The consortium intends to combine technology owners, industrial partners, innovation intermediaries, investors, commercialisation experts and scaling support organisations capable of bridging the gap between research completion and market adoption.
The consortium is particularly interested in identifying organisations that operate within cluster 6 sectors that fulfil the following conditions:
•Own exploitable intellectual property generated through completed Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe projects.
•Have technologies, processes, digital solutions, services or products at demonstrator, pilot or pre-commercial stage.
•Seek support to advance market readiness, industrial uptake, licensing, spin-out creation or international commercialisation.
•Are interested in participating in collaborative activities focused on validation, demonstration, business development, investment preparation and exploitation planning.
Potential application areas within cluster 6 may include, but are not limited to:
•Food and agri-food innovation
•Bio-based products and biotechnology
•Circular economy solutions
•Sustainable manufacturing technologies
•Environmental technologies
•Digital technologies supporting sustainability and industrial transformation
•Climate and resource efficiency innovations
The consortium currently includes organisations with expertise in innovation management, business acceleration, stakeholder engagement, technology validation, market development and European project implementation. Technology-owning partners are sought as cornerstones of the application, building on promising exploitable results that can be advanced through the project. The project will be submitted under Horizon Europe and will follow the framework conditions specified in the call documentation.
