Resumen

Our proposal aims to raise awareness and level of preparedness in Primary Education students for natural disasters, through the use of Virtual and Mixed Reality environments and applications. However, in order for the students to acquire the necessary skills, it is deemed necessary to initially train the teachers in relative scenarios, so some workshops and multiplier events will be scheduled.

Virtual Reality (VR) scenarios in schools have emerged as a transformative tool, offering immersive experiences that go beyond traditional learning methods. In the context of disaster management, soft skills training, and addressing bullying scenarios, VR holds significant importance. Virtual reality scenarios play a pivotal role in schools by providing immersive, experiential learning opportunities. Whether in disaster management, soft skills training, or addressing bullying, VR enhances traditional educational methods, offering a dynamic and engaging platform for fostering knowledge, skills, and empathy among students. As technology continues to advance, the integration of VR in education is likely to become more widespread, contributing to a richer and more effective learning experience. Disaster Management and Simulation VR scenarios will be created in the project: • Realism and Immersion: VR allows students to experience realistic simulations of disasters like earthquakes, providing an immersive learning experience. This can enhance their understanding of emergency procedures and improve their ability to respond effectively in high-stress situations. • Safety Training: Virtual reality scenarios provide a safe environment for students to practice evacuation procedures, drop, cover, and hold on techniques, and other critical skills without the inherent risks associated with live drills. • Repetition and Reinforcement: VR simulations can be repeated multiple times, reinforcing key concepts and actions. This repetition contributes to muscle memory, ensuring that students remember and execute the necessary steps during an actual emergency.
