Predoctoral Research Assistant for the Structural Mechanisms of Cell Growth Group

The Structural Mechanisms of Cell Growth Group, within the Structural Biology Programme of the CNIO, is looking for candidates to fill a position as a predoctoral assistant to work on the identification and characterization of new regulators of cell growth by amino acids.
Criterios de evaluación
– Bachelor’s degree in biology or related subjects, with a master’s degree in Biochemistry, molecular biology or similar.
– Previous experience in molecular biology and biochemistry is essential, ideally with work in human and/or yeast cells and protein extraction/purification.
– Previous knowledge/experience in Mass Spectrometry is a plus.
– Technical skills:
• Molecular biology: PCR, DNA purification, cloning, transformation and generation of cell lines using CRISPR/Cas9, etc.
• Biochemistry: protein extraction/purification, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, among others.
• Advantageous to have previous experience in structural biology and/or cryo-electron microscopy, as well as cell biology techniques such as confocal microscopy.
– Advanced written and spoken english is essential.
– Good organizational and management skills.
