Chemical engineer, graduate in chemistry or similar to work in the preparation and characterization of new materials with pharmaceutical interest. The project is done in collaboration with two leading private companies in the development of products and solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

NANOMOL-BIO is a research group dedicated to the synthesis, preparation and physicochemical characterization, up to pre-clinical regulatory scale, of molecular and polymeric nanomaterials for biomedical applications. Some examples are polymeric materials and composites, powdered substances of controlled size and morphology, materials in suspension, or vesicular systems for the controlled release of drugs. The processing of these materials is carried out, among others, by means of high-pressure compressed fluid techniques.

The NANOMOL-BIO group is a member of the Biomedical Research Network (CIBER) in the area of Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BNN); and is awarded with the TECNIO seal granted to Catalan research groups with high innovative capacity and technology transfer. We are located at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (https://icmab.es/soft) , a CSIC research institute. Our facilities are located in the research park of the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona).

Offer:
Chemical engineer, graduate in chemistry or similar to work in the preparation and characterization of new materials with pharmaceutical interest. The project is done in collaboration with two leading private companies in the development of products and solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

Main tasks:
Preparation and processing of solid, colloidal and other types of soft particulate materials, especially using high pressure techniques.
Analysis and physicochemical characterization of particulate samples in powdered form and suspension.
Select appropriate experimental and analytical methods and define protocols.
Detect deviations in results and/or potential problems, recommend modifications in protocols or standard methodologies and overcome the causes of deviations.
Write laboratory procedures and understand existing procedures and methods.
Write technical reports and summaries. Prepare data for presentations and know how to discuss them.
Requirements:
Qualification: Graduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or similar. Higher studies (Master's degree, PhD) will be taken into consideration.
Experience required: Previous experience in chemical, pharmaceutical or similar laboratory work. Experience in the field of preparation and characterization of nanomaterials will be an asset.
Other:
Organized, proactive person with a good predisposition to teamwork.
Ability to adapt to a flexible and changing R&D environment.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of laboratory management, calibrations, protocol development and quality system monitoring.
English: B2 or equivalent, and computer skills at user level.
Conditions:
Full-time contract.
Gross annual salary: 000 – 34.000 € /year
