UBIQUITIN-LIKES AND DEVELOPMENT LAB - Dr. ROSA BARRIO

CIC bioGUNE (http://www.cicbiogune.es/) is a key research center within the national and international scientific landscape and has been recognized as “Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence” by Spanish government. CIC bioGUNE is an Endorsing Institution of the European Charter for Researchers & Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers, guranteeing the best framework conditions to contribute to the professional/personal development of researchers.

Barrio’s Lab (Researcher ID: F-8712-2011) offers a creative and collaborative atmosphere, applying state of the art techniques in the fields of molecular, cell biology, genetics and biochemistry, to answer biomedically relevant questions. One of our main interest is how posttranslational modifications by the members of the ubiquitin family shape the cellular landscape and the organism through the regulation of different cellular processes. More specifically, we are interested on how modifications alter the function of the primary cilia in relation to rare diseases, for instance Townes-Brocks Syndrome, a rare disease that causes cilia alterations by mutations of SALL1, a transcription factor modified by the Small Ubiquitin-like MOdifier, SUMO. We are developing technology to study posttranslational modifications in the cilia and other organs. More information on Barrio’s Laboratory: http://personal.cicbiogune.es/rbarrio/

CIC bioGUNE is looking for highly-motivated experienced researcher of any nationality interested in applying for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship call (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020).

- Reintegration: researchers who wish to return directly from a Third Country and reintegrate in a longer term research position in Europe. The researcher cannot have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than three years in the five years immediately before the call deadline (09 September 2020).
- Career Restart: researchers must not have been active in research for a continuous period of at least 12 months within the 18 months immediately prior to the deadline for submission (09 September 2020).
